Fun atmosphere and amazing food!!! The service was great and the waitress was so funny she definitely added to the experience. FYI the cheese plate is massive!!!!

At the first moment you enter this place the personel give you a great feeling. Very comfortable waiters, it is a happy restaurant to go out with friends or with your date. very good cooking, qualified chef, modest pay and nice service. Warmly recommended.

Steak and mushroom pie is outstanding as is the lamb keema (nice and spicy but not hot spicy). Full bar, wine and beer and sports on the TVs. Outdoor patio is great during nice weather. Service always attentive in my experience.

One of my favorite places in town. One of the better British Indian curries in town and has great staff. Good array of alcohol choices and great food. Burgers on Mondays are a great deal and curry and pint deal on Wednesdays is amazing

Just been to have my Sunday roast. obviously lamb being an Englishman. The meal turned up, looked great as usual, but it was beef, not lamb. I sent it back asking them to keep rest of meal warm, came back and it was still beef. I ate the rest of meal because it was good, but be aware this lot do not know the difference between beef and lamb, sadly I am going to have to find another Sunday roast location.

I just went here with a girl friend and had the best time. We sat outside around the fire pit to get a quieter vibe, but it's cozy and wonderful inside as well. The food we had was incredible. I have some dietary needs and they were so accommodating and kind. The waiter never seemed frustrated that I had to ask questions either. He was super friendly and seemed happy to be there. I can't say anything bad about this place and definitely hope to go back again.

Great food, the Tikka masala is really good. One plate could easily Feed two.

Great selection of British and other European beers. Good tasting British food. I would say they have the best fish in the Fish and Chips plate in Houston. Worth to regularly visit. Great British style pub inside.

Great Sunday Lunch !! I'm British lived in Houston 12 months and never visited a British pub here. I would definitely recommend this place, food was great and big portions too !!

I love this place. Absolutely a Houston staple. The food is great, and the portions are large. Their is always the feel of being in a place that's just comfortable.

Very tasty authentic English food, friendly service, nice atmosphere, had the Stilton and sausage roll appetizer, very tasty and large portion, also had full Sunday roast lamb dinner with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, peas, Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, gravy and mint sauce, very good

Went in to watch an Astros playoff game. Great atmosphere for sports. Tried the Curry Wings and they were delicious. A mix of curry and crunch. Excellent selection of local and English craft beer. Scottish eggs were excellent. I paired with Blue Cheese Bacon mashed potatoes. They also had happy hour on all drinks during the game. Despite being busier than usual, server followed up without being overly attentive. Look forward to checking it out again soon.

Quaint little pub with good sized portions of food and drinks!

This place was a recommended spot for a great burger so decided to give it a shot for a Saturday lunch. Staff was attentive and informative on the menu but the food far surpassed my expectations! I went with the Cornish Pasties and it was the best restaurant food I've had in quite some time! So good, we decided to come back for the Sunday special of roast beef and Yorkshire pudding which didn't disappoint. Will definitely be back to tour the remainder of the menu.

My friends and I visited New Years Eve night. Felt like it was necessary to come back and post a review for this place even after so long because it was a really great bar! Our waitress was very knowledgeable and attentive. It was busy that night considering the holiday so it got pretty lively but that’s a bar for ya. Lots of draft options, really informed waiters on the menu, good atmosphere. Would definitely come back for another event!

Mmm... An "English pub" with a dominantly Asian menu?

The Red Lion has become one of our favorite places to eat. The owner is friendly and not afraid to work. The food is outstanding. The music is great. Indoor and outdoor seating. We haven't come at night yet however the lighting on the tables and firepit look promising beautiful. A couple of t.v.'s play ports that you can see from the bar or booth. Overall, I would highly recommend giving it a go, it just might become your favorite as well. Cheers

Excellent service (always). Butterscotch bread pudding was amazing. Beef vindaloo was great as well.

Loved it!!! Enchiladas were full of flavor. Unique and fun. An explosion of flavors. The bread pudding was like laying on a cloud and having the happiest moment explode in perfect sweetness.

It's great to see this establishment surviving. Great service a little on the expensive side for my liking but I really can't fault it.nim glad we had the chance to go again

Great dark old fashioned pub style place with tons of authentic British beers on draft. Fancier British pub food as well as Indian options make for an interesting menu! Portions we're gigantic and everything was delicious, definitely worth the price. I had the chicken and dumplings and it was perfect flavorful comfort food on a chilly night.. the dumplings were rich and fresh peas to die for. Husband had the Sunday roast special that came with an amazing assortment of veggies - parsnips, Brussels sprouts, roasted potatoes along with mashed, carrots, and more glorious peas. And Yorkshire pudding! I always wondered what that was :) Memorable meal and experience! The outdoor patio looked really cool as well for nice weather days.

Nice ambiance and great food. It is a very nice restaurant with good amount of Indian food (surprise). The overall experience was nice, you get nice cozy rustic feel for a good candle light dinner 🙂

I am giving 5* for our server Crystal who was the ultimate professional. Who went above and beyond in the service she gave to the four of us tonight. Knowledgeable, helpful, friendly. We visit often for our fish and chips fix. Hopefully she will still be there on our next visit. Thanks Crystal.

Fantastic selections of classic English ales, and the "pub food" is aligned with what I'd expect somewhere in Northern England.Except, well... better. Look, I'm not trying to playing into the "British food is terrible" stereotype, but I have eaten pub fare in England and what you get in fish and chips, with malted vinegar -- it's usually not good.You can eat it, but it's not good.Meanwhile, Red Lion takes these classic British dishes, and does them better. I also appreciate the nod to Indian cuisine, consistent with India's osmosis with British food. (Although, I suspect some history scholars will take issue with how I framed that statement. Is it osmosis if it's forced? Anyway...)This is a great little gem. Try it out.

I love this place. The food is excellent and the ambience in cozy. I always have a great time with my friends here. Good beer selection and very friendly service. Right now during Covid, they're being very responsible and following all the protocols. Check it out or get some pub grub to go!🤩🍺

Amazing place with a welcoming ambience. The outdoor seating is really what makes me come back to this place. Good selection of alcohol and insanely amazing food dishes hardly seen anywhere.

So you've heard the phrase "generous portions"? Go to the Red Lion to have that phrase redefined. The beef stew pictured was photographed from geostationary orbit. Of course "lots of food" doesn't necessarily mean "good food", but the stew was absolutely delicious too. We also had fish and chips on the table and they were equally excellent with fabulous homemade tartar sauce. To round things off , in a fit of suicidal hubris we ordered the bread pudding dessert, which reminded me of the pudding my gran made. Sniff. A good selection of British beers too AND curry (next time...). Just go.

Nice atmosphere and good drinks. Did not eat much my first go, plan on going back through and try the food. Mostly Indian inspired cuisine.

Great little hidden gem in Houston. The food here is superb. They have some really good specials during the week. Great British vibe. Good beer selection. Prices are bit high but they make it up with large portions. Great steak on steak night. You also can’t go wrong with a $5 cheese burger combo.

Came here for a night out with my friend, wasn’t expecting anything as far as food or drinks just a place to chat and catch up. But I was surprised when the food came out, it was so good! I had the scallops and they were tender and delicious. My friend had chicken satay and fish and chips, the fish was huge and such a perfect golden color. After our meal we were both stuffed and continued to have quick and wonderful service while drinking and chatting the night away.

My daughter and I went saw this place on food network. Food was excellent. Nice choices in beer. We sat on patio which is shaded. Excellent service.

I have not been to this place in a while due to the price point, but if you come for their specials it's not so bad! On Fridays the fish and chips is $14 and it was incredible! I would say the best fish and chips I've have had in Houston!! Definitely worth a visit.

Started Christmas Eve tradition on coming here after Candlelight service 4 years ago. This year there was no wait and got a booth. Service was not as attentive as past visits. Had to flag him down for another drink. Shepherd's Pie did not live up to past expectations either. Family was happy with their fish n chips as usual.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Houston! My husband and I just love this place! Such wonderful ambiance and food! The portions are quite generous so we love ordering appetizers and a full meal each then taking the leftovers home. Their beer selection is excellent as well!
